The Ischia island is the biggest
one in the Gulf of Naples; thus of volcanic origin, it still shows traces of the
earthquakes and eruptions suffered in the past centuries, particularly visible
in its really luxurious vegetation and in Thanks to its multiform morphology
the Island moulded the nature of its inhabitants: fishermen and sailors on the
seashore, peasants on the hills and the slopes of the mountains: people who were
far away from the dry land and were forced over the centuries to develop the
right way to survive during Saracen pirates’ raids as well as the domination
wars.
Between Porto and Ponte The Porto (Harbour) originated by
an extinct crater, subsequently filled up with water, that formed a natural lake.

Dynasty decided to let it open towards the On the contrary, the ancient
sailors’ village, Ponte, keeps the deepest memories of the island: from the
